Saturday Is Matilda Mae SkyDive Day #MMSkyDive

This coming Saturday is a very special day.

It's also a very scary day for 9 amazing women.

They are jumping out of a plane to raise money for The Lullaby Trust in memory of beautiful Matilda Mae.

However, it's nowhere near as scary as every Saturday that Jennie faces.

If you follow my blog or are part of the blogging community you will know the story of my friend, and fellow blogger, Jennie. We shared our pregnancy journeys together - me with Tiny Ched and Jennie with her miracle daughter, Matilda Mae, who was born just a month after TC.

Sadly, Matilda was taken away from Jennie, at just 9 months old, on Saturday 2nd February by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)... more commonly known as cot death.

A cot.

Somewhere you expect your baby to be safe.

But for many parents it isn't.

Each year, in the U.K., over 600 families are torn apart because of the devastating loss of a precious child to SIDS.

Each year these families go through the unimaginable pain that no parent should have to go through.

The Lullaby Trust work tirelessly to help support these families on this terrible journey. Their work is vital to not only offer this support but also to raise awareness of SIDS and do all they can to help prevent it.

Anyone who's followed Jennie's personal story will never forget Matilda Mae. I think of her every day and I never had the pleasure of meeting her - I'd only met Jennie before when we were both pregnant. I've spoken publicly about Tilda twice now on behalf of the blogging community and all the beautiful photos Jennie took in her 9 short months are etched in my memory.

A little girl with such a short life but a little girl who has left a lasting impression.

A legacy to be proud of.

A legacy to shout about.

A legacy to raise thousands of pounds for The Lullaby Trust.

A legacy to jump out of a plane for.

Yes, Saturday is a very special day.

The Matilda Mae Sky Dive will be incredible. These women, a few I've never met and a few I have a couple of times (and now are lucky enough to call friends) are doing something so amazing, something so brave, something that deserves to be shouted about.

Something that deserves to be sponsored.

Also, one of these ladies has a very special place in my heart.

Suzanne.

We both attended Matilda's funeral back in March. Although we had met previously, it was only once when we were both pregnant. We then spent the best part of 2 days together, sharing tears and support (and an amazing roast dinner made by her lovely mum) and becoming friends. Suzanne's blog post really sums it all up. We held each other up when we stood up and spoke about Tilda's legacy. Then we did it all again last month at BritMums Live. Suzanne and I always shed a tear whenever we meet up now, as we remember, but we also share smiles and laughter. And hugs. Lots of hugs. I've made a friend for life.

She is an amazing lady, and I know the other 8 (also amazing) ladies jumping with her will look after her for me as I can't be there this weekend.

These 9 ladies are going to jump into the sky.

The sky is somewhere I look when I think of Baby Tilda and on Saturday my eyes will be up in the air most of the day...remembering Tilda and thinking about what these incredible women are doing to raise money.

The Power Of Bloggers #Healing4Kerry

Every blogger has that moment.

The moment when they want to say something but the words just don't seem to come easily.

This isn't one of those posts.

Although this is a hard thing to blog about, the words flow easy because of the subject.

Kerry.

AKA Multiple Mummy.

Kerry has been a big part of my blogging life right from the start. She started blogging just a few weeks after I did so we instantly hit it off. We entered the world of blogging together and never looked back. Her blog became an huge success because of her being so lovely, genuine and down to earth. We would spend ages chatting on Twitter and striking up an online friendship. Six months later we finally got to meet at Cybermummy 2011.

It's always the same when you finally meet someone you've 'known' online. You wonder if they will be the same lovely person in the flesh as they are online. I've blogged before about how the online world has brought me some amazing friendships - it even brought me a gorgeous husband!

Well, Kerry is one of the many wonderful bloggers who totally live up to their online persona.

She's beautiful, funny, genuine, kind and lovely.

However, something happened this Summer that made me, once again, realise just how precious and fragile life is.

Kerry suffered a brain haemorrhage at the end of July.

The whole blogging community was in total shock.

Kerry was in a coma for some time and continues to have setbacks. Unable to speak or feed herself, Kerry's husband (Multiple Daddy) is doing an amazing job of raising their 3 gorgeous little ones - and managing to keep up Kerry's amazing blog.

Today, Liska (AKA NewMumOnline) has asked bloggers to hand their blogs over to Kerry and come together to pray, wish, meditate etc. to send positive thoughts. I'm not a religious person but Kerry is constantly in my thoughts and my heart aches for her and her beautiful family. I wish with all my heart that her rehab goes well and she does not suffer anymore setbacks. We are a month away from Christmas and the best present ever would be that Kerry makes dramatic progress along her healing pathway.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - bloggers are awesome. As a collective we have the power to make a difference. I've seen it countless times across blogs and twitter, we make make waves for positive change, we spread the word about things, we get our voices heard. Today we are using ours to shout out for #Healing4Kerry. We need to believe that we can make a difference.

A Much Needed Brew

Before I start, I just wanted to point out that I haven't been asked to write this post. I just wanted to share our experience and let you know some exciting news.

So, things have been up and down lately and I haven't been socialising much. Thankfully the lovely people at Cosatto have helped lift my spirits.

As well as winning Best Baby Blog at The MAD Blog Awards on Friday (have I mentioned that? *cough*) I was invited to be part of The Great Cosatto Cuppa last Wednesday.

The Great Cosatto Cuppa is where they open the doors to their fabulous world of baby brights. They supply the brews and cakes and you get to see their amazing products and talk to the lovely team. It's open to anyone, you just have to keep an eye on the Cosatto Facebook page (they host them every couple of months I believe) and express an interest. They love getting direct feedback from mums and dads and working with parents to improve their products.

We were lucky enough to be asked along as, earlier in the week, I'd heard that Tiny Ched and I had been chosen to be Brand Buddies for Cosatto. I'm totally thrilled about it. I've already blogged about my new love of the Swift Lite Supa Pushchair which TC is loving and I keep getting people commenting on how fabulous it looks! "It is" I tell them enthusiastically. So I'm really happy to be able to share lots of Cosatto goodness with you.

Anyway, I digress.

Where was I?

Oh yes. The Great Cosatto Cuppa!

Last Wednesday, if you remember, the weather was pretty vile. What is it with all this rain? Seriously, the weatherman are having a laugh! So, with MC safely at school, TC and I ran to my car - hey, I had my hair to protect from the rain! - and headed off on what should have been roughly a 40 minute drive up to the Cosatto offices in Bolton.

Anyone fancy a cuppa?

An hour and a half later we arrived. The M56 and M62 were not kind to us at all. The offices were on an industrial estate and I parked up and ran jogged lightly - yes, it had rained the whole journey. However, as soon as the doors to their showroom opened I was immediately transported into a world away from the dreariness of outside.

The whole place was bursting with colour! It was amazing how much it lifted my stressed out mood. TC and I were very happy and it wasn't just because we had spotted the amazing 'Cosatto' cakes in the corner.

The team couldn't do enough for us. They kept us fed and watered and it was lovely to meet and chat with other mums and their babies and toddlers.

A world of baby brights

We were given a complete tour of the new Giggle Travel System which is awesome. It has such a compact fold for a travel system - I was seriously impressed. We also got shown a forthcoming highchair which was superb. TC even got to be chief product tester! It was really interesting to hear from Andrew, the CEO, who explained how these meet ups help the team immensely and that his children are now grown up so it's great to have customers help shape the future of the products.

I was really made to feel like part of the Cosatto family. They are such a lovely team of people and you can see the passion they have for their products. Also, I'd LOVE to work in their offices. They have THE biggest (and fastest) slide inside their building. Imagine being able to slide down to a meeting?

I was also crowned a Brand Buddy whilst I was there. I'm not joking either, I got a 'Brand Buddy' crown!  So, I'll be bringing you my opinions on some fab Cosatto products over the next 6 months. Just watch this space!
