Ahoy There Pushchair Lovers - It's The Cosatto Yo!

I should have written this post a few weeks back. Things have been a little hectic lately but I also think that subconsciously I'm upset that my time as a Cosatto Brand Buddy has come to an end.

And I really don't want it to end.

I have to say that Cosatto products rock. And when I say that 'I have to say...' I don't REALLY mean I have to say...nobody is forcing me to say it..I want to say it...because they DO rock! Confused? Probably. I do have a tendency to ramble on my blog.

Anyway, what was I saying?

Oh yes...Cosatto products.

Well, Tiny Ched and I have had sooooo much fun. As a Cosatto Brand Buddy we've got to review the superb Noodle Highchair and the fabulous new Moon Unit travel cot/play pen. Also, before I was asked to be a Brand Buddy, we were sent to Swift Lite Supa pushchair which we fell in love with. I really didn't think anything could top it.

Until now.

We are certainly going out with a bang! Last month we were sent the incredible special edition Ahoy There Cosatto Yo! pushchair to review.

What do I think of it?

In a word...AWESOMENESS.

Yes, I'm just making up words now (sorry!). But it really is awesomeness.

So much so that Matt and I are seriously considering taking the Yo! to Florida with us.

Now, I'm not saying we don't love the Swift Lite Supa. We do. It's just the Yo! has the edge on the manoeuvrability. It glides like an absolute dream. Yes, the Swift Lite Supa is a little more compact and lighter (I think...) but I've fallen for the Yo!

What's not to love?

Available in 6 eye-catching designs, the Yo! is the ultimate in funky design. It's lightweight aluminium chassis folds down umbrella-stylee into super compact easy to put in the boot (there's a mouthful!). It's got an automatic locking system which clicks into place when you put the pushchair away and it's even got a carry handle.

It's suitable from birth as it reclines fully flat but what's also great about the recline is that YOU can control it so there's no set positions - whatever works for you and your little one. It comes with a detachable head-hugger for small babies too.

As with all the Cosatto products the attention to detail of the design is second to none. The 'Ahoy There' stripes and funky skull and crossbones go throughout the pushchair. They are even underneath the hood so your little one has something cool to look at. It comes complete with a funky fully fleeced footmuff (try saying that when you've had a few scoobies) with kangaroo pouch to keep little fingers warm in this crazily cold weather we've been having. It also comes with a rain cover (in a matching bag/bottle holder), reversible seat liner (fleece for winter and light for summer) and...wait for it *drum roll*...a matching change bag!

Seriously, the team at Cosatto have thought of everything.

The thing that we love the most (Matt and my parents have said this too) is how easy it is to push. It's just so lovely and glides along like it's on ice. I'm so pleased with it that it's my first choice when I'm out and about and will be forever, I think.

So, I'm going to leave you with my slightly rambling vlog review of the Yo! in which I am obsessing about the fact I didn't get chance to wash my hair this morning.

Yes, I've stooped to a new low.

I have no shame.

I tried to get away without unveiling my greasy mop on the world but, alas, it wasn't to be. Enjoy.

We've Found Our Perfect Pushchair Thanks To Cosatto!

Anyone who's followed me on Twitter will know I've was searching for the 'perfect' pushchair for Tiny Ched.

There were a few in the running in the end but none of them quite hit the spot somehow. They were either slightly too bulky, didn't come with the right extras or weren't exciting enough. I couldn't make up my mind.

Love at first push!

We have a travel system but frequently, especially for holidays and days out, we need a pushchair. The one we'd had previously for MC had come to the end of its life.

So, imagine my delight when the fabulously cool people from Cosatto came to the rescue by asking if we'd like to try out their Swift Lite Supa pushchair. The 'Little Monster' design was perfect for TC and I have to admit, I was in love with it before the box even arrived on our doorstep.

I've always loved the Cosatto brand. Their products are fresh, funky and fabulous - what's not to love about them?

We were off on a break to Tenby last week so it was the perfect time to really put the pushchair to the test...

The Swift Lite Supa certainly lives up to its name. It's amazingly lightweight and folds down easily to the size of a 3 year old girl! I love how the clip goes into place on its own as soon as you fold it and it has a carry handle - two things our previous pushchair didn't have. It's lightweight but it's so strong and sturdy, so much more so than our previous pushchair. What's more, it comes with a fantastic 4 year manufacturer guarantee from Cosatto - not many companies would offer that level!

Although we were only going away for a week we had a lot of luggage! Going away on a UK break always means packing for all seasons (although we seem to luck out by selecting the perfectly sunny first week of September!) but add to that a 5 month old baby and all the trimmings you have a boot full! We managed to fit 2 medium suitcases, a large holdall, a travel cot and the Swift Lite Supa into the car boot.

The funky design of Cosatto products is one of their iconic features and the 'Little Monster' is no exception (there are 7 designs to choose from). When I posted pictures of the pushchair to Instagram and Twitter it was an instant hit with my followers. Being out and and about with the pushchair you can tell it's a head-turner and I've already had someone covet it. The 'Little Monster' design is carried throughout the pushchair and even underneath the hood which entertains TC no end. We haven't been able to try out the Cozy Toes yet as its been too warm but this looks fantastic on the pushchair and will be even more of a head-turner. What I really love about the Cozy Toes is that the fleecy lining goes right down inside rather than just around the top like most I've seen. Also, there are little hand warmer slots in the top so not only are little toes kept toasty warm but little hands are too! I can't wait for Winter.

TC found the pushchair so comfy. He fell asleep in it frequently and we were able to tilt the seat back until it was flat really easily. We used to battle with our previous pushchair which usually resulted in MC (our daughter) waking up. Because of the 3 position recline, the pushchair can be used from birth.

As I've said, the pushchair definitely lives up to it's name. As well as being really lightweight with a superb compact fold, the Swift Lite Supa is fabulous to push. It's really nippy and was a dream to use in and around Tenby. We negotiated hills, bends, cobbles and the beach and it was amazing. We even got a boat across to Caldey Island and the pushchair was lifted onto the boat complete with TC still in it, whereas other people who had larger heavy pushchairs had to remove their little ones and collapse theirs.

It also took our buggy board brilliantly so we were able to push MC and TC together, with ease. In fact, the Swift Lite Supa is actually easier to manoeuvre with the buggy board attached than our complete travel system.

So, all in all, the Cosatto Swift Lite Supa gets the thumbs up from our whole family. TC is just so happy in it. I've also done a brief vlog below (my first one...eek - maybe next time I do one I'll actually appear in it. A bit camera shy this week!) so you can see just some of the features I love about it.

Mamas & Papas - At The Heart Of The Word 'Family'

As most of you know, I was lucky enough to be invited by MumPanel to the head office of Mamas & Papas in Huddersfield last Tuesday to preview their new range. Living in the North West/North Wales area means that most of the events I get invited to are a bit of a trek as they are usually 'darn sarf' so I jumped at the chance to attend this. Not only is it just over an hours drive for me but it's for a brand I absolutely love!

As soon as I found out I was expecting Mini Cheddar back in 2008, I spent countless amounts of time at my nearest Mamas & Papas store. I think everyone knows and loves that brand so much as it oozes quality and style.

What I didn't realise though, was just how much the word 'family' is at the very heart of the company. The company was founded by the lovely David and Luisa Scacchetti in 1981. Luisa was an expectant mother who was frustrated by the lack of choice when it came to prams and baby products so she found what she was looking for in Italy. From then, Mamas & Papas was born and celebrated it's 30th birthday this year.

We were lucky enough to spend time in the company of Amanda and Olivia - David and Luisa's two daughters who now work within the business. Amanda is the very reason the company was born and her passion for the company, along with Olivia's, is in abundance which is so heart-warming for a large company. David and Luisa are permanent features at the company and Luisa still personally approves every single product that they sell which I think is just amazing and shows her 30 years of commitment to quality. This is something that has made me extremely passionate about the brand myself.

Mamas & Papas are also very focussed on keeping costs down for customers. They are constantly looking at their price points to offer a wide range of options to suit all budgets - something much needed in the current economic climate.

We were treated to sneak previews of the forthcoming Spring and Summer range which were excitedly shown to us by the team. They showed us the new features and the new colour ways. Every one of the staff their had such a passion for their products and were very knowledgable. They are so welcoming of comments from parents and are constantly improving their products on the feedback they receive.

We were shown everything from the latest buggies to the top-of-the-range pushchairs and also baby carriers (I loved the Comfort and even got to try it on for size!). We were shown the range from the re-designed Trip which is the lightest weight holiday buggy and will be priced at a mere £39 up to the Voyage at £179.  We were also shown the Sync which is a brand new hybrid (cross between a buggy and a pushchair) available February 2012. It's suitable from birth, has a multi-position recline toggle system which means no jolting your sleeping baby - hurrah! What I also loved about this model was that it had an intelligent folding system which means that none of the fabric touches the floor when it's collapsed.

The pushchairs were where I really fell in love. The Sola, Urbo and Luna all with modifications and new colour ways. When I was pregnant with MC, I did my research on pushchairs if only the Mylo from Mamas & Papas had been available - I think it launched 6 months too late for me sadly.

I can honestly say that I could have cried when we were shown it. I hear about women who have 'pram envy' and go through countless prams during their time as parents and I have never understood it - until now. I had serious pram envy when I saw the Mylo - it's amazing - I love it and I am now secretly scheming to have a pushchair related 'accident' with my old pushchair so I can convince my husband to buy a Mylo!

There are certain parts of the Mylo that are handmade and you can tell - it's the epitome of design and innovation. I can't believe I am talking like that about a pushchair but, hand on heart I just love it. The unique selling point of the Mylo is the single-handed fold. Just what I need next year when I'm struggling with a new baby and a 3 year old! I had a go at collapsing it and it really is so easy to do. You can also get adaptors for car seats which is perfect. It's not exactly cheap at £545 but, having seen it in action I would gladly pay it...it's definitely worth it.

There is also the option to purchase a carrycot which, and I think this is fabulous, is suitable for overnight sleeping! For us it would mean no more hiking a travel cot on frequent nights away. The carrycot can also rock, be put on a stand and the infant can be propped up which is perfect for those babies that suffer with reflux.

I could talk about the Mylo for hours, I love it that much.

Now, having spent time with Mamas & Papas and their products I am even more in love with them too.
