Wow. There's one to look back on in the future and remember with fondness. Great picnic, and great company x

Brilliant - beautifully composed and what a gorgeous moment! (And, as an iPhone obsessive, I think it's Instagram, not Hipstamatic?)

There is something magical about this shot. Would be a great story starter to inspire reluctant writers in school x

What a lovely place to have a picnic. How close is that deer? :-)

Thanks for all your lovely comments. For those asking where this was taken - it was at Dunham Massey which is a National Trust place in Altrincham Cheshire (£5 to park per car or free to members).

This is in the deer park where my friend and I had a picnic with our children - it was beautiful. This wasn't the closest the deer came to us and other people, they would feed from your hand too.

Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Oh and top marks to Kirsty - it was taken on my iPhone using Instagram :)

this looks like about 16 great photos all combined in one. So many lovely elements - the child, the picnic, the shadows, the trees, the deer, the buildings.

Beautiful photo, I love shots taken form behind the child, seems like I'm seeing through her eyes

Thanks for your comment. Yes, Missy is indeed my bird. He's 12 years old and has been with us for 10 of those years. He's a galah cockatoo, which are considered pests in their native Austriala.

I also have an African Grey called Izzy Whizz who will be 5 years old on 16th May.
