Even now with holiday parks such as Haven and you think of lovable characters such as Rory The Tiger or Bradley Bear. Ah, how fabulous.
So, what was on offer at our holiday park when my Sister and I were kids?
A big moth-eaten scary old bear that's what!
I'm useless with ages but I'm guessing that I'm about 5 or 6 in this photo (I'm the one on the right) which would put the year at about 1979/1980.
Every time my Sister and I see this photo we end up in hysterics laughing at the state of the bear. This was obviously taken in the days when you could sit on a bears knee to have your photo taken (what a shame!). I do believe there is another take of this photo where my Sister and I are looking totally horrified but I can't find it.
I'm not surprised we were looking horrified, just look at the state of the bear. Look at his shoes sticking out the bottom of the costume. Look at his eyes!
It's a wonder we didn't have nightmares if I'm honest.

You forgot to mention the curtains :) They are seriously scary too! And I always enjoy looking at old photos so I hope this linky continues x
Hahahaha...Brilliant post! I have a photo just like this from Pontins in the 70's except instead of a bear it was a big white furry bird, so funny...we spent all night chasing him to get a photo with him, lol! Hilarious! x
Omg! That is indeed one scary old raggedy bear! You and your sister look so well behaved there - mind you , you were probably told if you don't sit still the bear will eat you lol
Enjoy Cybermummy - I am gutted not be going and to meet you and other lovely bloggers :( never mind, hopefully next year xx
That is the creepiest bear I've ever seen! And yes, those curtains are pretty scary too - the 70s have a lot to answer for lol.
My hubby remembers his nursery curtains being similar apparently. Strange how certain things stick with you.
